There are a few requirements for becoming a ChaCha guide and getting paid to text answers.

- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be fluent in English.
- You must have a U.S. mailing address.
- You must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- You must have a high-speed Internet connection.
There are a few different kinds of guides on ChaCha, and you get paid based on that.
An Expeditor is considered an expert, a pro, and he or she answers questions in real time. As an Expeditor you need to have rapid research skills and you must also be able to text pretty fast.
A generalist is the person with great research skills. It’s the “know it all” kind of guide that can search and find answers quickly.
As a specialist you are required to have a specific knowledge base. Every question you receive is in your line of expertise. So, a specialist doesn’t need to research to find answers, he or she already knows the answer and can text the answer quite fast.
As a Transcriber you get paid to listen to voice messages and basically convert them into text messages so other guides can answer them.
As a Vetter you are given a list of answers, You then choose the one that you think is the best answer for that given question.
How much money can you make with ChaCha?
Vetters earn $0.01 cents per completed task, Expeditors earn $0.02 cents per completed task, and Transcribers $0.03 per completed task. Generalists earn between $0.10 and $0.20 per completed task, based on the category of the question. So, the more you text, the more you earn!
How do I get started?
To get paid for texting, simply visit ChaCha, fill out the ChaCha guide application. Once approved, you will receive a congratulatory email which will direct you to their orientation and training.
Once you are done with that, you will be required to take a “Role Readiness Test”, which basically lets them know you are ready to answer questions live.
You are officially a ChaCha guide once you pass the test. They then will set you up with their system, and you will be ready to get paid to send text messages.
