Can I Get Paid For Donating Blood?
Well, unfortunately in the US, paid blood donations are not a viable option. That’s because according to studies volunteer blood donors provide a safer blood supply for transfusion purposes, so the FDA doesn’t allow paid blood donations to be used for transfusion purposes.

And so, not many blood donation centers actually offer incentives for donating blood. Though, most donation centers will give you at least a T-short or something like that as a reward.

Having said that, you can still get paid for donating blood, well, the plasma in your blood to be exact. Yes, you can get paid to donate blood plasma. the reason for that is because plasma can be treated for safety in such ways that is not possible with blood cells. So, that is why the FDA doesn’t have any regulations against paid plasma donations.

Plasma is extracted from your blood using the apheresis method. It’s then treated and processed into drugs by pharmaceutical companies. These drugs are usually used to develop treatments to help people suffering from immune deficiency related diseases fight their disease.

So, in a sense, you can still get paid to donate blood, but it’s actually the plasma in your blood that is used. Non the less, it’s an easy way to get some fast cash while helping to treat other people with immune deficiency related diseases.

Where Can You Get Paid To Donate Blood?

On the day of the appointment, you will be required to take a quick physical test to ensure you are healthy enough to give blood. Once that’s done, they draw your blood, extracting the plasma from it and pumping back your blood into your veins. Donating blood can take about 45 minuets or so.

How Much Money Do You Get For Donating Blood?

You can expect to be paid somewhere around $30 for each blood donation. But be careful not to donate too frequently, as it can have some health hazards. That is why most donation centers have a waiting period between each donation.

So, as you can see, you can not actually get paid for donating blood per se, but you can donate the plasma in your blood and make some fast cash that way. If you are tight on cash and don’t mind helping a fellow human being, then you might want to consider donating blood for money.
